The Travel & Expedition Program

Travel is an experience of the soul. It begins in the desire to understand, in the restlessness that draws us beyond the familiar, in the search for something we cannot yet name.

An LPW Travel is a photographic journey built around a territory, its light, history, culture and people. We move slowly enough to observe, return, wait and photograph again. The route is not a sequence of destinations to be collected, but a thread through which a place can gradually reveal its shape, its rhythms and its meaning.

We share the road, the anticipation of light, the encounters and the questions that every journey brings. Photography runs through all of this: not as proof that we reached somewhere remarkable, but as a way of paying attention, entering into relation with what we encounter and giving form to what the journey leaves within us.

An LPW Expedition begins from the same principle and carries it further. Distance, duration, access, environment or the nature of the photographic work may require greater preparation, production and support.

Travel and Expedition are different in scale, but not in purpose. Groups remain deliberately small, allowing the journey to remain responsive to light, weather, people and the unexpected.

We do not travel in order to accumulate photographic opportunities. We travel because displacement can make seeing uncertain again.
