About these terms

These terms apply when you book or take part in a London Photographic Workshop workshop, journey or photographic expedition. They set out the practical agreement between you and us. Please read them alongside the individual event page, which contains the itinerary, price, inclusions and exclusions for that specific experience.

Booking and payment

A place is reserved with a deposit of 25% of the total fee. The remaining balance is due no later than 60 days before the start of the workshop, journey or expedition. If the balance is not received by then, we may release the place after contacting you.

What your fee includes

Each event is different. The individual event page states what is included in the fee and what remains your responsibility. Please read it carefully before booking, particularly in relation to travel, accommodation, meals, local transport, permits, visas and equipment.

Minimum participation

An event may be cancelled if the minimum number of participants is not reached. The usual minimum is two participants for a workshop, three for a journey and four for an expedition. We will notify you of a cancellation for insufficient numbers no later than 60 days before the scheduled start, and refund in full the sums you have paid directly to London Photographic Workshop.

Changes and cancellation by us

We may need to cancel or modify an event because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including serious safety or security concerns, war, civil unrest, epidemic, natural disaster, major disruption to public transport or an international air-transport strike. If we cancel an event for these reasons, we will refund in full the sums you have paid directly to London Photographic Workshop. We are not responsible for flights, insurance or other services booked independently.

Cancellation by you

If you cancel more than six months before the event begins, we will refund the sums you have paid. If you cancel between six months and 60 days before the start, the deposit is retained. If you cancel within 60 days of the start, payments are normally non-refundable, subject to your statutory rights and to any costs we can reasonably avoid. If we can reassign the place, we may offer a credit towards a future London Photographic Workshop event instead of a refund; this is considered case by case and is not automatic.

Participation, safety and insurance

Our events may involve unfamiliar terrain, changing weather, travel disruption and local conditions. You must follow the reasonable guidance of the workshop leader and local logistics team. We may decline or end participation where conduct compromises your safety, the safety or experience of the group, local communities or the environment. Travel insurance is not compulsory, but we strongly recommend cover for medical costs, cancellation and disruption to travel.

Photography and images

You retain the copyright in photographs you make. By taking part, you grant London Photographic Workshop a non-exclusive permission to use selected photographs, with credit wherever reasonably possible, on our website, in our own publications and through our official social-media channels. This permission does not extend to use by third parties for their independent purposes.

Liability

Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. We take reasonable care in planning and delivering our events, but cannot accept responsibility for circumstances outside our reasonable control or for independently booked services. Any limitation of liability is subject to applicable law and does not affect your statutory rights.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you may have under applicable consumer law. Questions can be sent to info@londonphotographicworkshop.com or by post to London Photographic Workshop, 3A Charlotte Place, London W1T 1SD, United Kingdom.
