§ Privacy

Privacy Notice

How we handle the personal information entrusted to us.

§ 01

Controller and contact

Luca Monti Photographer, trading as London Photographic Workshop (LPW), is the controller of the personal data described in this Notice.

Registered office: 167-169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF, United Kingdom. Privacy contact: info@londonphotographicworkshop.com.

§ 02

Scope of this Notice

This Notice explains how LPW handles personal data obtained through its website, enquiries, applications, newsletter, individual agreements and the organisation of its Photographic Immersions. Where accommodation or travel services are provided by a licensed travel partner, the partner’s own privacy notice governs the data it collects.

§ 03

Data LPW may process

Depending on your relationship with LPW, this may include your name, email address, telephone number, message, preferred Immersion, photography profile, voluntarily supplied portfolio material, contractual correspondence and the information needed to organise your Immersion.

LPW does not request or collect passport details, visa information, dietary requirements, medical information, emergency contacts, accommodation preferences or travel-insurance information. Where such data is needed for accommodation or travel services, it is requested directly by the relevant travel partner under that partner’s own privacy notice.

LPW does not collect, access or retain card numbers, bank credentials or other payment-instrument data. Payments are made by bank transfer or in the secure environment of the external payment provider used for the transaction, such as Stripe or PayPal, under that provider's own privacy notice.

§ 04

Why we use personal data

We use data to answer an enquiry; discuss or prepare a bespoke Photographic Immersion; conclude and administer an individual agreement; communicate essential operational information; provide the Photographic Immersion; protect the security and integrity of our services; and meet legal, accounting and tax duties.

The legal basis is, as appropriate, steps requested before entering into an agreement and performance of that agreement, compliance with legal obligations, LPW's legitimate interests in administering and securing its professional activities, or your consent for a newsletter or another optional communication.

§ 05

Newsletter and optional communications

We use your email for the LPW mailing list only where you choose to subscribe. You may withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link or by writing to the privacy contact above. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out before it.

§ 06

Who may receive data

Access is limited to Sognifero/LPW personnel and carefully selected technical or professional providers that need the data to operate the website, receive enquiries, communicate with you, maintain records or meet legal obligations. They act under appropriate contractual safeguards where required.

Travel-agency partners are independent providers and controllers for the travel services they sell. LPW does not sell those services and does not routinely pass them your personal data. If you choose to contact a partner, you establish a separate relationship with that partner.

§ 07

International transfers

Where a technical provider processes data outside the United Kingdom, LPW will use an appropriate transfer mechanism under the UK GDPR, such as UK adequacy regulations, the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the standard contractual clauses, as applicable.

§ 08

Retention

Enquiries are normally retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe. Agreement, invoice and accounting records are retained for the period required by applicable law. Bespoke preparation material, including voluntarily supplied portfolio material, is retained only for the period reasonably necessary for the relevant Immersion and its follow-up, unless a longer period is legally required or separately agreed.

§ 09

Your rights

Subject to the conditions and limits set by law, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection. You may also withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis. To exercise a right, write to info@londonphotographicworkshop.com. You may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) or another competent authority.

§ 10

Cookies and similar technology

LPW does not use advertising or marketing cookies. To count visits and see which pages are read, the website stores one random code in your browser. It contains no name, email address or other personal detail, and we use it only for aggregated statistics about this website. We cannot tell which individual visitor did what. You can switch these statistics off at any time. Everything else the website stores serves its function, such as remembering your choice to reduce motion.

§ 11

Children, automated decisions and updates

LPW Immersions are for adults. LPW does not make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about participants. We may update this Notice when our services, website or legal duties change; the current version will be published on the LPW website.
